Medieval town rich in history.
Our lovely home for a week in the middle of the town. If you haven’t stayed in a VRBO, you are missing out! Not only do you get to stay in the greatest neighborhoods, but you get to feel like you are living in the culture instead of being a mere tourist.
The owners renovated this place from top to bottom, it was spectacular! When we arrived they even had a high chair and toys for our little man – so lovely and thoughtful. I like the fact you can see our suitcase in the corner!
The most charming city.
Have you been to the Netherlands? Where are you travelling to next?
More to come on this one!
Try a VRBO next time you travel with baby or kids.

It was stunning, well worth the visit. You are way too kind, I am not good with a camera, about 80% of my shots look like I didn’t put my glasses on!

What a lovely house! I do love VRBO and got a great vacation house for our whole family in Mexico last year, but there’s a terrific newcomer at http://www.airbnb.com that I will try for our next vacation. They have some pretty interesting properties around the world and I like how they ‘verify’ landlords and guests via social networking sites. Our house in Denver is rented through airbnb and we’ve had great success so far. Check them out.

I have never heard of it before, but looking forward to trying it, I see that they have some great apartments in a few places we are planning on going to. Thanks so much for sharing!

I don’t know Amersfoort, but I have done excellent tours in the Netherlands. I loved the tip of VRBO. We intend to rent a house in Alsace at the end of the year and this site may be useful to us. Being in a home, integrate into city life, are good ways to explore a place.

We have done the Alsace region, stayed in Colmar (loved it), which I haven’t posted about yet, I have only posted about Strasbourg: http://travelladywithbaby.com/2012/03/29/did-we-get-the…ght-strasbourg/
VRBO’s are rated and you can get recommendations. We have had nothing but fantastic experiences! Just make sure you look at train routes and locations before booking.

Love VRBO! Stayed on the beach in Newport Beach, CA. Family members have used them in AZ. If I ever have vacation rentals I will use this site to list too. Travel Lady, I just came across your blog. I love that you are all over the place with your family. That’s one thing that intimidates me about the idea of having children. Have you been to Austria? Beautiful!

Newport would be lovely. I love finding great VRBOs, we are all early risers, which means trying to find a restaurant open for breakfast is impossible when staying in a hotel. Travelling with kids is great, it is really all in your attitude, it can be great fun, you just adjust schedules. We haven’t done Austria yet, who knows when we will manage to get there.

This city is about 20 min out of Amsterdam. The Netherlands is absolutely stunning, well worth a visit. You can take a flight into a cheaper city and take the train in.
